Ministries

Adult Choir

Conducted by our Director of Music, Jim Ferguson, the adult choir meets on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. from September to June, and sings an anthem at the 10:00 a.m. Sunday service. Additionally, the choir sings at Holy Day services, such as Ash Wednesday, Easter Eve, and Christmas Eve.  During the summer, the Sunday service music is offered by various individuals or groups from the choir and parish, both vocal and instrumental.

Fellowship

The Fellowship Ministry coordinates the Coffee Hour that follows every 10:00 a.m. Sunday service, as well as special occasions, such as Baptisms and Confirmations.  The Fellowship Ministry also plays a large role in the production of our annual calendar of intergenerational events, including Jesus' Birthday Party on Christmas Eve, an Epiphany International Pot Luck and Folk Dance, our lively Shrove Tuesday Mardi Gras Party, and various other fun educational activities throughout the church year.

Lay Eucharistic Ministry

Licensed Lay Eucharistic Ministers serve at the altar as Chalice Bearers.  Those who choose are also trained to bring communion to the house-bound, and do so on a rotating basis.  Communion is delivered to two shut-ins each Sunday.

Lectors

In a tradition stretching back to the earliest Christian communities, lectors read the Scripture lessons during the Sunday worship services on a rotating basis.

Outreach

The Outreach Ministry meets monthly on the second Sunday of each month (it is rescheduled when the second Sunday is a holiday) at 11:30 a.m. Outreach is involved in many ongoing projects and activities with area organizations. In our MetroWest community, members of St. Andrew’s serve dinner once a month (second Friday, 5-7:30pm) to guests at United Way of Tri-County’s Pearl St. at Park, collect non-perishable food items for Daniel’s Table and Pearl St. at Park, provide gift cards at Thanksgiving for families via Wayside Youth and Family Support Network, and collect diapers and diaper wipes for The Diaper Project at A Place to Turn. Other activities/events support organizations in Massachusetts and global organizations. New initiatives are in the works as well.

Stewardship

The Stewardship Ministry meets monthly, from September to June, and provides yearlong education about many kinds of stewardship.  In addition to implementing the annual Stewardship Campaign, the Stewardship Ministry continually educates the parish about opportunities for giving through long-range estate planning.

Worship

The Worship Ministry meets four times each year and coordinates all aspects of worship life at St. Andrew's, including music, liturgy, and worship schedule. The Altar Guild takes care of the liturgical vessels and linens, and prepares the sanctuary for all services. Though the Guild traditionally consists of women, everyone is welcome to serve.
